Kennedy's commitment to reach the moon, NASA, 1961

“When [Kennedy] asked us to do that in 1961, it was impossible. We made it possible. We, the United States, made it possible.” - Chris Kraft (the man who started Mission Control.) Quote from Smithsosian Museum

What Apollo 11 changed for the better:

Apollo 11 set the first men (Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong) on the moon, which ended the Space Race to the moon between the U.S. and Russia in 1969. The Apollo 11 mission has changed many thoughts on outer space, the science world, and the course of space exploration. Apollo 11 has changed the lives of everyone at NASA and people all around the world with one small step.
